去年此時，紅襪還正為一個烏煙瘴氣的球季尋找兇手，但棒球場上再度驗證，任何事都有可能發生，例如一年之內就從墊底到封王的超級大翻身。

昨天才剛確定晉級季後賽的紅襪，確定季後賽將取得更有利地位，紅襪今天在芬威球場靠著投打皆略勝一籌的表現，以6：3擊敗季前更被看好的藍鳥，拿下自2007年球季以來，睽違6年的美聯東區冠軍，歡喜地在24小時內再噴一次香檳，慶賀封王。

07年紅襪在封王後一路奪下隊史第7座世界大賽冠軍，今年肯定希望再複製一次偉大。

紅襪在封王戰的最大功臣首推先發左投列斯特(Jon Lester)，主投7局只失1分，賞藍鳥8K，拿下本季第15勝。巧合的是，這也是列斯特生涯第100勝，雙喜臨門。
