中央氣象局今（19）日表示，輕颱潭美將開始逆時針方向前進，撲向台灣北部。出訪南美洲及加勒比海五友邦的總統馬英九是否提前回國坐鎮，總統表示，「不排除任何可能性」。
總統馬英九「賀誼專案」台北時間今日上午10時，於友邦聖克里斯多福及尼維斯下榻飯店與隨行記者茶敘，說明賀誼專案訪問成果，並回答媒體提問，NOWnews.com「今日新聞」連線報導。
記者提問，颱風快要來了，有考慮提早回台嗎，何時決定？
總統表示，「出訪前就開始注意颱風的消息，出訪的每一天都在跟國內的聯絡，瞭解颱風的動態，目前還在進行評估當中，不排除任何可能性」。
馬總統回程將過境美國洛杉磯，預計22日下午2時返台。
