台灣微軟表示，將在台北國際電腦展期間，展出「Windows Phone 8APP新秀」精選作品。

根據IDC 2013年第一季全球智慧型手機出貨量市占調查報告顯示，搭載Windows Phone作業系統的智慧型手機出貨量是第三名。WindowsPhone 8 APP下載量以兩倍以上的速度成長。

Windows Phone 8市集已推廣到全球191個地區，隨著微軟於今年5月初宣佈Windows Phone 8將新增6個可收費的市場後，Windows Phone8可付費的市集更擴展到122個，其中已有20個市場 (共計26家在地電信營運商)，如美國、英國、法國、香港、南韓…等區域外，最近更拓展至南非，消費者可將購買APP的費用合併在手機通話費用之中。
