【綜合報導】近年來醫療院所頻傳暴力事件，致使醫護人員間興起學武風潮，有醫護集體學習巴西柔術，還巡迴醫院宣導同業共同習武防身；上月遭藝人黑枝毆打的彰化基督教醫院蔡姓急診醫師，更聘專家教他空手道，只期盼別再活在「可能被打」的恐懼中。醫改團體批，醫護靠習武自救已凸顯國內醫療環境惡劣與悲哀，呼籲衛生署「硬起來」幫助醫護人員。

據衛生署醫事處統計，從2009年至2013年5月，國內通報急診暴力逾650件，這還不包括非急診室與未通報的件數，由醫護人員組成的醫勞盟理事長、急診醫師張志華坦言「實際件數可能超過2倍」。在不想受暴力威脅下，愈來愈多醫護人員開始習武。衛生署發言人王哲超表示，對醫護人員習武不反對也不鼓勵。
